Women: Hood Collective | Process Spotlight

Women: Hood Collective blends art, storytelling, and movement to explore womanhood. For “Women: Hood” Fourth Phase, the group spent the summer working on a new collaborative performance with the community, themed “RADIANT café.” Filmed in late August by Auden Lincoln-Vogel and Philip Rabalais (2024-25 BFF Project Grantees) at the ArtiFactory Gallery in Iowa City, the footage is now in the editing stage and a video of the performance will be shared later this fall.

During performance production, the collective had a wonderful opportunity to connect and create with other local performers, filmmakers, and community participants. The following images offer a sneak peak of the process. Check back soon for details of upcoming public events at 237 Collective in Cedar Rapids in mid-October and ArtiFactory in Iowa City in November.
