Upcoming Workshops!
This fall Carlos Maldonado (2025-26 Big Field Fund Project Grantee) is offering two introductory classes at Zarpa Studio in West Liberty.
Through these classes, Maldonado hopes to inspire and encourage individuals in the community to engage with visual art as a meaningful form of self-expression and a conduit for emotional release. Plus learning the elements of art can be really fun!

¿Para Quién?
Niños: edades 9-15 (limitado a 12 estudiantes)
Adultos: 16+ (limitado a 12 estudiantes)
¿Qué vas a aprender?
Este es un curso introductorio centrado en los elementos del arte. Aprende lo básico del arte por medio de la pintura, el dibujo, y actividades creativas.

los martes, 4-5:30pm Sept 29 - Nov 17 (8 semanas)
Adults:
los jueves, 4-6pm Oct 1- Nov 19 (8 semanas)
¿Por qué? El arte es una parte esencial de la experiencia humana. Es una gran forma de autoexpresión y un medio para liberar emociones. ¡Además, puede ser muy divertido! No importa si va has pintado antes o si esta sea su primera vez. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

Free Art Classes!
Who:
Kids: Ages 9-15 (limited to 12 students)

What:
This is an introductory course, with a focus on the elements of art. Explore the basics of art through hands-on painting, drawing, and creative exercises.
Where:
Zarpa Studio, 317 N Calhoun street, West Liberty IA
When:
Kids: Tuesdays 4-5:30pm Sept 29 - Nov 17 (8 weeks)
Adults: Thursdays from 4-6pm Oct 1- Nov 19 (8 weeks)
Why: Art is an essential part of the human experience. It's a great form of self expression and a conduit for emotional release. It's also really fun! No experience needed, all are welcome.
